CURE‘s first offer (after being acquired by Smart) is ümobile.
It’s an exclusive mobile community for 15-35 year olds. So you get a mobile experience that’s rich, exciting and most of all, surprisingly free. Invites are limited so that every member can enjoy these benefits:
- Free P100 load every month for the first 6 months *
- Enhanced communication with fring™ (mobile VoIP)
- Nationwide coverage
- Earn rewards with every ad you see
- Mobile broadband surfing
- PC calling with Virtual Phone (coming soon)
Its the first ad-funded mobile service in Asia. That means, you get FREE call and text loads in exchange of advertisements being sent to you by text or MMS – picture and Video ads.

They also partnered with fring™ for their VOIP service.
fring™ is a mobile Internet service & community that enables you to access & interact with your social networks on-the-go, make free calls and live chat with all your fring™, Skype©, MSN© Messenger, Google Talk™, ICQ, SIP, Twitter, Yahoo!™ and AIM© friends using your handset’s Internet connection rather than costly cellular airtime minutes
Hmmm.. nice offer… Free loads… who wouldn’t take it?
I’m also interested in their “changing of number” service. umobile users will be able to change their numbers anytime, anywhere by doing it online. Changing your number for the first time is Free but succeeding changes will be at P50.00/change.
They will also be launching a Virtual Phone Service.. getting rid of customer service agents. =p
umobile’s prefix number is 0999.
I googled around and found out that there’s already a umobile.. but in Malaysia. But according to umobile Philippines’ FAQ page, they are not connected.
Ok so how will you be able to use umobile. Well, you have to be invited. For now, its an exclusive network to a few users. Maybe they are still trying out the services before it is offered to the public. Also, they might not have enough advertisers to fund the Free load of their users.
I’m sure we’ll be seeing umobile invite codes for sale by users who have been given the opportunity to try this service.
