A look at the Nokia N78
Here are the different parts of the Nokia N78
1. ON/OFF button
2. 3.5mm connector (for headphones, TV-Out cable, speakers, and other compatible devices)
3. Earpiece
4. Selection Keys
5. Call key
6. Menu Key
7. Keypad (more about this below)
8. Microphone
9. Navi wheel / scroll key
10. Clear key
11. Multimedia Key
12. End Key
13. Light sensor
14. Secondary/front camera
At first look, it seems it has no keyboard.. I smiled coz I was thinking it might have used the Brail system (yah know… for the blind). The keys are too close to each other but its soft and maybe just need some getting used to.
The Navi wheel /croll keys was too sensitive.. With just a soft touch, you can move around the menu and go around your video or picture gallery. It was cool at first, but I turned it off.
1. Left speaker
2. Zoom/Volume Keys
3. Capture key (for photo and video)
4. Led Flash
5. Main Camera 3.2 megapixels
6.MicroUSB slot
7. MIcroSD slot
8. Charger connector
9. Right speakers
10. Hole for wrist strap
What an odd placement of the speakers. One is at the top left while the other on the bottom right. With regards to the sound.. well, you’ll have to wait for my post about audio and sounds!
Although the the N78 only has a 3.2 megapixel cam, It boasts of having Carl Zeiss Tesar lens.. like the Nokia N82,
Also, It only has a led flash unlike the N82 which has a xenon flash… but the Led light of the N78 is very useful when taking videos on dim environments. More about this when we discuss Photos and videos of the N78.
My first complain about the N78 would have to be opening the back cover. I had a hard time doing that coz i don’t grow my nails long. Also, it seems that the back cover was a little loose. I got the unit still with plastic cover so I assume its still unused.
Also at the back of your N78 is teh 1. GPS receiver, 2. FM transmitter antenna, 3. Cellphone antenna.
Yes it has an FM Transmitter Antenna and i’ve already tried broadcasting.. wayyyyyyyyyyyy coooool!
But i think the position of the the GPS and Mobile phone antenna have been interchanged. Coz most phones have their antennas on the top. And i think it wont disrupt the GPS signal if the receiver was at the bottom of the phone.
Conclusion:
The Nokia N78 has an elegant look…. Classy.. the feel is great… first time I saw it, i said WOW! Nice to hold. Slim and light.
