14 days before WordCamp Philippines

Posted by migs Categories: Opinion

My sidebar counter says its only 14 days to go before WordCamp Philippines!

YEY!

We’ve finished sending out Camper’s Passes to all registered, verified, and confirmed participants. Of course, there are those who registered and was initially confirmed but failed the succeeding verifications… So you might be hearing or reading some blogs about that.

As much as we wanted to accommodate everyone, and make everybody happy, we cant… due to some reasons..

This is the first WordCamp here in the Philippines and in South East Asia, and for sure this will be an annual event from now on. If you weren’t able to attend this year, there’s always a next time. =>

The picture you see above is an offical WordCamp Philippines wallpaper created by Andrew, who also designed the great WordCamp T-shirt! You can download 10 cool Wordcamp Wallpapers here. Speaking of t-shirt, we’ve re-opened the selling of the WordCamp shirt. It  will be delivered to the address you specified.

Also, here are some reminders:

1. Print your Camper’s Pass and show it to us before entering the Camp.

Camper Passes are non transferable and non-convertible to cash. =p

2. Bring a Valid ID.. I’m sure you know what a valid ID is. Why? Coz of the tight security at CSB.. they need to confirm if you are who you say you are…

3. If you will be bringing a gadget bigger than a normal cellphone or PDA.. such as a laptop, UMPC, Internet tablet… you’ll be needing to fill-out a form. Why? Coz CSB says so… WHY again? It’s for the protection of your valuable/s.

And to help you out, we’ve created an electronic form. Just visit here: http://philippines.wordcamp.org/2008-08-15/venue-guidelines

4. There’s no venue that’s full of power outlets.. So we suggest you charge your gadgets the night before WordCamp.

5. Free Wi-Fi.. CSB’s Computer Business Association and the Association of Information Management will try their best to provide everyone with their wi-fi needs.

6. Wear something. You can wear your native dress if you like. Also, slippers/sandals are not allowed. It’s for the protection of your feet! =p

7. Be there early or on time… Just so we’ll start on time. yah now. Gates open at 8:00 AM

8. Prepare to gain more knowledge and have FUN!

If you have other questions or clarifications… gimme a buzz!

See you at WordCamp!
