FreeTXT from Globe

in partnership with Axis Global Interactive introduces FreeTxt. A service that would enable those and users with ZERO load to send a text message to their desired recipient.

So how does this work?

First you need to register..

To register, text FREE REG First name/Last name/Location/Age/Gender and sent it to 2625. Registration is FREE!

Example: FREE REG Ian/Oroceo/Quezon City/23/M

Once you are registered, you can now send a free message by texting

FREE <recipients mobile number> <message> to 2625.

Example: FREE 09175310329 Hi Ian! Try this one! It’s FREE! To 2625

Your recipient should read your message or else, a limit of 3 messages is set. So your recipient needs to read at least one of your message for you to be able to send 3 messages again. Also, to avoid overuse of this service, a sender will only be allowed 30 recipients in a day… this limit will be increased your recipients will read the message.

The receiver/recipient of the message will receive a notification along with a message number. To retrieve the message, text:

READ<message no.> to 2625.

For Example: READ1 to 2625

It is free to send, but you pay double when you read/retrieve the message. Receiver/Recipient gets charged with P2.50 for every message that you retrieve/read.

If you send a text message to your friends/contacts, they will receive a text notification that you sent him/her a text message. This notification is free of charge. On the other hand if your friend/contact retrieve/read your text message he/she will be charge of P2.50 for every retrieve/read message.

For subscribers you can messages even if you have a zero balance on your account. For subscribers you should have one (1) peso maintaining balance to messages.

I find this useful for prepiad subscribers like me who sometimes forgets that we’ve already ran out of load (call and sms credits) and needs to send a very important message. However, i think the 2.50 fee to retreive the message is a bit expensive considering the cost of texting is/should be cheap.

Oh, you can only use this service if you are a or TM subscrber sending a message to a or TM Subscriber. For smart subscribers, i think the ASK for LOAD promo is still up.
