I tried this service and i received the message quickly… just like sending a message from your mobile phone.
However, as you can see from the screenshot, it doesn’t show the name of the sender. So its not only free and unlimited, its also anonymous sending of text messages! WHOAH!
I replied on the # given, and i refreshed the site, and i saw my text reply.
I’m sure a lot of people will ABUSE this free messaging service. First thing in mind is using it to send spam text messages!
Also, there’s an issue of privacy.. If you happen to reply to the uPhone number and not to the tru recipeints number, then your message will be shown to the world like this one..
Furthermore, as an added feature, maybe they could include the username of the recipeint or something that would be able to determine who sent the message and for spammers, have an ID that recipeints will be able to use to block the sender.
Speaking of features, you can also create a blog, poll, do live chat, create a shared document online, and other cool stuff over at uPhone.
Questions:
1. How long this will last?
2. What will be the reaction of the BIG Telcos (Globe, Smart, SUN).
