Globe has released a new Mobile internet surfing plan for their postpaid subscribers. They are now offering the same mobile surfing rates being enjoyed by Globe Visibility users.

They are offering:

  • Plan 149 – 10 free mobile Internet hours
  • Plan 399 – 30 free mobile Internet hours
  • Plan 799 – 60 free mobile Internet hours

How it works:

Mobile Surfing Plans are postpaid data plans that offer free mobile Internet hours (with no voice minutes or SMS). These are add-on plans to any existing Globe postpaid plan and are NOT standalone postpaid plans. Surf for as low as P0.25 per minute on a Plan 149 compared to the standard P0.33 per minute!

The charging rate is time-based, meaning you are charged for every minute you consume using mobile Internet.

After consumable plan hours are consumed, regular mobile Internet browsing rates apply – P0.33 per minute.

How to avail:

A subscriber must have an existing Globe Mobile postpaid plan, i.e. GPlan, GFlex and Time-based plans, Advantage Plans, Legacy Plans, Plan 100, etc.

A customer may apply for a regular postpaid plan and apply for a Mobile Surfing Plan at the same time.

Subscribers can avail of the service through Business Centers.

There will be a 6-month lock-up period, subject to pre-termination fee of P1,000.

Mobile Surfing Plans are not yet available for the following:

1. Prepaid accounts
2. Corporate and SME managed accounts
3. Globe Service Units
4.  Extension Plans, Load Tipid or Allowance Plans, or iPhone plans.

Take note that this is on top of your globe postpaid plan. That is..if you are on plan 1,200, and you availed of the 149 plan, then you will be billed 1,200+149.

I think an add-on pan such as this will not be necessary for those who availed of high monthly plans. Like Plan 1,800 and up. Like for a G-Flex postpaid plan consumer like me, i think this will just be an additional expense and the savings that i’ll get from the per minute surfing rate difference (from 0.33 to 0.25) will not be that big. Since i don’t really consume the 1,800 limit and i don’t normally surf the net using grps/3G. I always look for an area with wi-fi.

But this will be benificial to those who are using their postpaid plans to surf the net often. Like for businessmen and executives  or people on the go who should frequently be connected on the internet or through their company network (ex. via VPN). Big savings for the company. Aside from the Free internet hours, you’ll laso get an 0.8 cents per minute savings.

Eventually, Globe will bring their regular per minute rate to this promo rate.. like.. maybe 4 months from now? (I hope it will be that fast).

Actually GLOBE Mobile Surfing Plan ideally is great. But im having problem right now. I subscribed the DataPlan399 with 160MB free and usage is set to KB not by TIME. I just dont know how this free 160mb or equivalent to Php.24,000.00 at P0.15/kb is being computed from the running balance. Because if you consume all this 160mb and it reflects on the running balance that your consumption has already exceeded your credit limit, how will you able to consume all your free Mb’s? and the bad news is that they have to redirect your line by simply using your free Mb’s in which you paid for.

  3. Cool post I just Love it, Keep adding more like this!
