I’ve been getting some invites from friends to join Sandbox. I got curious so i joined.
As i see it, Sandbox is a mixture of different contents given to its user in one simple to use portal.
For one, its like a Social networking that provides services like friendster but with online store.. Meaning you can collect as many friends as you like and update them on the latest happenings in your life. It has status updates, you can upload photos and videos. You can share stuff you love with friends you love.
Another site that i can compare it to is Facebook. It provides services like facebook but with online store. Such as the pop-up chat on your browser. People can also send messages to you and you can check it on your email account provided in Sandbox powered by google… that means you have nearly 8GB of email space to use! (still coming soon as of posting time)
In just a few clicks of a button, you’ll be able to read News, get your fave tunes, games, and download movies. You can join groups and forums. These features and services can be accessed using the cute buttons on the right side of the screen. I love the animation!
All contents that you choose will be downloaded to your mobile phones.
[Download] charges will be made against the load on your prepaid mobile or billed on top of your postpaid plan. And they’re not much. Content will cost anywhere from just P15 to P80 per download.
As of posting time, download via mobile phone is only open to smart subscribers. But i’m certain their service will expand to cater other networks. And you can’t download it on your PC. awts…
Their forum-like online marketplace is called Digisoria. hahahah nice name!
Oh, did I already tell you they have free stuff for download? Yupzie! check out a free java game and free tunes here.
Some suggestions that would make this site even better:
- Re-design. I think its simple design does not compliment the vast content that it can’t provide its users.
- Able to forward a content to another user or non sandbox user. Spread the love.. give a gift content. Give an movie, a game perhaps to your friends or loved ones.
- Maybe they can also provide an option to download the content on the user’s PC to save the users the time and money in downloading the files and later upload all the contents that they downloaded in their mobile phones.
