Smart to bring Google Android to the Philippines

If  Globe telecoms brought the iPhone and Blackberry to the Philippines, Its Smart Communications turn to bring some delight to the Philippine mobile users. Smart in partnership with HTC is set to offer the HTC Magic, a google android powered phone.

The HTC Magic, powered by AndroidTM, is designed to turn heads with its chic looks, and command attention with its advanced list of capabilities. It provides the Google suite of services like Mail and Search geared up for use wherever your life leads you. Fully customizable Home screen lets you put applications, music or contacts widgets.  Further Enhanced with Outlook synchronization, Smart Dialer, and an onscreen keyboard with predictive text, Chinese input and handwriting.

    Now if they’d only work on rolling out their nokia e63s and 5800s first. I’ve been bugging them for a month and a half for my free phone for renewing my contract with them. And I chose between the two since they’re offering those units. But until now, I have yet to get my unit.

    According to the marketing person we talked to at Smart Wireless Center in Gateway, may internal problem daw with the warehouse or something.

    And now they’re promising to bring HTC that’s powered by Android? Hmmm…
