You can now get weather updates directly on your mobile phones. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) now has an sms update feature. However, this service is currently available for Smart subscribers.
The 850 MHz band, which was used before for analog cell phones will now be equipped with High Speed Packet Access (HSPA).
