My take on the mobile world…

Home » Mobile Brands » Skyfire: Mobile browser with flash

Just found a new mobile browser… and i’m excited to write about it. Please welcome, Skyfire. A free web browser for mobile phones.

ScreenShot009

Skyfire is a free, downloadable mobile browser that gives you a Web browsing experience exactly like PC browsing.

Skyfire is not totaly new. Its been out for about a year now. And some tech sites has already been wowed what it has to offer.

What I like about this new mobile browser is that:

  1. Its FAST
  2. Its FREE
  3. and the best of all.. it can handle FLASH and silverlight

The 3rd one is the only one lacking on Opera mini for it to be perfect. And Skyfire is not perfect also. coz it doesn’t have some features that opera mini has. Laptop Mag has prepared a nice comparisson of features for everyone.

I can’t enumerate to you what it doesn’t have because i’m already a fan of it having flash support. And to check if it can indeed play flash videos, i opened my fave streaming sites. And i was all smiles… all the videos played. I even tried to go to youtube (even if i know its been blocked by our IT guys here in the company)… and what a surprise… youtube is alive again! Skyfire can play youtibe vidz! Whoah! (I know our Company’s IT guys are reading my blog, so IT bros, please don’t check to see how it works ok?).

I also tried to open facebook apps. And yes it works. Although you’ll just have a hard time panning and vieiwing the whole page.. but it works… it really works.

I’ll try to see what other neat stuff it can do. As i see now, it still needs more improvement and i’m sure it will come.  My only concern right now is privacy. Is it safe to enter passwords and some other private data.

It currently supports Windows Mobile 5, 6, and 6.1 and Symbian phones by Nokia (E and N Series). You can download skyfire on your PC and upload it on your phone or download it directly using your mobile phones and going to this link m.skyfire.com.
