How to backup your mobile phone contacts on your PC

I recently made a backup of all my contacts on my Nokia N82  and placed it on my computer.  There are three ways to do it. And you will need the Nokia PC suite. So make sure you have one installed on your computer.

One method of backing up your contacts would be by the use of the backup manager. Just follow the instructions given and just choose to backup your contacts and deselect the other choices.

Another method: You will find the Contacts tab on the bottom left of the nokia PC suite application. It might be on another location depending on the pc suite version you are using. Once you see all your contacts on the screen highlight all your contacts (click the first contact, hold the shift key on your keyboard and use the slider to go to the last contact then click the last entry). After which go to FILE on the Menu bar then click EXPORT.

Follow the instructions and your done. You may choose the type of file you want as output. Choose CSV if you’d like your contacts to be shown in an excel file.

The last method is the manual way of backing of your contacts. Highlight your contacts as done in the above instructions. But instead of clicking EXPORT in the menu, hit CTRL + C or copy. Then open a folder on your PC and hit CTR + V or paste. Each of your contacts will have their own vCard file. For me this is better as you will be able to delete any unwanted or inactive contact.

I do a quarterly backup of all my contacts. Just in case my phone gets damaged or lost. You should too.
