WHOAH.. not bad for a branded “china phone” huh? Will be exploring more of Torque’s range of mobile phones. So watch out for it here at www.MigsMobile.net.

It looks like a cool phone. BUT the GSM is the ewww factor. I love the E71 for its GPS and the new modem-phone function
hehehe…
for SRP P4,399, its dual sim and somewhat looks similar to the Nokia E71 is a big factor.
Hi,
I hust want to know if this is quad band? Just want to make sure if this can be use in other country.
Nope..
Just GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900MHz.
Why do the features say ‘dual screen’?
Heheh.
It has something to do with the dual sim. Its like both profiles for both sims can be displayed.
Will take a closer look when I get my hands on a unit.
It looks suspiciously like MyPhone Q21 which I have. i mean the keyboard layout is exactly the same and even the features are the same. Only the casing is different which is better looking than the q21.
it seems that the video cannot run, no manual how to operate the video and view. i cannot open the video!
I have the my/phone Q21 too which I got for Php4,500 ferdibaq. Doesn’t it look like a small version of the RIM Blackberry bold 9000? But yes the E71 is more impressive to look at so the Torque DQ500 is better looking than our Q21. That and at Php4,400 I wish I saw this one first.
Why I can’t use the WAP ang can’t open the GPRS.and I ask the two Cellphone subscriver, but they said DQ500 is notyet ready for activation.
I haven’t played with the DQ500 yet. But you can try to ask them for the manual settings. see if that will work
Good luck!
Saw this beauty at E-hub Park Square where they also have the Cherry P1 in red only. It really does look like the E71 but the keys are deep blue which is also nice by the way.
If you like the appearance of the E71 but don’t need all the features you are better off getting this one. That way you don’t pay for what you don’t need. The service center is in Pasong Tamo extension Makati near San Lorenzo Village
hello migs..ur from zambo.? im quite interested of buying it since my cp got snatched last week.
hey its a good price thou. but pls let me know if it has a good result in terms of picture and video capture..tanx
Hi Farah,
Nope I’m a manilenyo in Davao..
I haven’t played with this one yet so I won’t be able to give you my review about the picture and video capture. But I’m sure other readers will be able to provide feedback on this.
ah ..ic.. tanx anyway…hey, is that a touch screen?
bought one last wednesday using my 13th month pay. bought one for 5k with 2 gig card. also bought a capdase leather flip case for the e71 which fits on the dq500. i totally loved it… until someone picked my pocket last night and got away with it. :S
Dop the torque mobile phones have a PC suite to which you can back up messages, contacts, etc?
I am also planning to buy this phone. But haven’t had much feedback about this.
The store that I looked at says that there is a already a bad feedback about this phone. They say that prolonged use of the its qwerty keypad makes it hangup or will result to hard pressed keypads. Funny isn’t it? Kaya nga may keypad para magamit tapos katagalang gamit tumitigas. Heheheh…
Still thinking if I will buy this, but I must be honest, I fell in love with its price, looks, and features. How I wish I can read better feedbacks for this one.
I got this phone lately, and believe me its really a nice phone, very much presentable and affordable. Of all the phones i had previously so far this is the best!
Crisy, can you update us if you’ll have some problems with it? Maybe after a month? thanks!!!
hello cristy..is it a touch screen?
another imitation of e71 but from a known source.
the looks is almost the same as e71 but you can’t still beat the genuine item.
not bad for those who crave e71 but can’t afford it.
Hey guys!I got this fone DQ500 last Dec 4 coz my LG fone was was lost accidentally and I really impressed the beauty of it the appearance is elegant and you look like somebody the one thing I’d like to air is that the video camera seemed to be not functioning good
I this phone DQ500 for a month now… truly d phone looks great in its style and elegance.. but i had a little prob with the qwerty pad i need to press it harder for the pad to work… (some of the letters)… BUT to rate it il rate it 8/10. i love dual sim phone …
hi..recently bought the dq500..its a cool phone.. the keypad only seems to work well when music is playing or when its plugged in tho…but i was wondering how to change themes? ive been searching for the option on the phone to do it but cant find it..the shades of blue theme is stressful on the eyes when u text…help?answere?please…
hi Diomar, the qwerty key pad is not that hard to use, u just have to get used to the beat..(meaning there is a milisecond interval when pressing the keys) to use them, anyway hope this helps, just got the phone today and was able to play with it a little, I will update you guys If I found out something…
i have this DQ500 for almost 5 months now and i have been using it extensively.. so far i don’t have a problem.. in fact the processor of this phone is much faster compared to other high end phones. Problem with the keypad? at first i have a problem with it but now i have discovered something, i just turned the keypad tone to on, and it works fine now all features are working… the multimedia, camera, video recorder, all you have to do is explore the hotkeys which is not found on the manual.. lol.. but for a tip.. press all the numeric keypads when using one of your multimedia.. THIS IS NOT A TOUCH SCREEN PHONE… but not bad for its price…
Greetings to u Migs!
I’m torn between these two phones; Q7 Cherry Mobile and Torque DQ 5oo. My bugdet just ranges between 5,000-6,000 pesos hehehe and i want to buy a cheap but worthy-buying qwerty phone with good functionality and convenient to use. When it comes to video recording and the camera quality what unit should i buy? And what unit has a usb connection? Please im in need of help. Thanks for taking time to read this and more power. Godspeed.
hi!
got the cherry Q7 recently and not much problems with the phone. keypad is not as responsive as your standard branded phones. the charger exploded on day 1 though, which the vendor easily replaced. all the features seem to be working fine. although it doesn’t seem like you can back up SMS and MMS to your PC. no PC suite but bluetooth works fine.
can anyone help me out regarding messages back-up to PC? much appreciated! thanks.
can torque phones automatically save sent messages like nokia phones. I heard china fones do not have this features. Any reply will be much appreciated.
to larry…
yes it can, it has a option send and save. so all your sent items will be saved in your outbox.
can i charge my dq500 w/ a nokia charge? the charger plug fits but im scared =)
@ken yes you can,, i tried it already and nothing happens,.. only my batt. “full charge”.
thanks jayson!
i actually tried it and works but i also notice somethings
-when i use the charger that comes w/ the phone the charger heats up to an alarming stage
-when i use the nokia charger the phone itself heats up to an alarming stage
-when i plug my phone to my comp via usb for charging the phone is as cool as ice( that’s why i prefer charging it that way)
disclaimer:
these are observations on my phone and not a general characteristic/s of DQ500
this phone has no java ……….. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa…. you can’t install any java apps in this !*@#$#@ phone…
is DQ500 phone can be downloaded softwares such as UCWEB, UZZAP, etc ? please reply guys… thanks
bought the dq500 anout a month ago,so far im quite ok with it..with regards to the pad sometimes some keys are hard to press, especially “p” and “alt” but after a while or after pressing it for a lot of times it works. for the wap service you dont need to register it to the networks because the settings are already stored in the phone itself.all you have to do is activate the correct wap service provider on the settings, and this feature is really one big factor why i love this phone. it allows me to use the internet without being charged, which means unlimited web access for free!!!
@jana: so sad to inform you that u cant install any software on it (that’s as far as i know as of today). just as jayson says there is no java feature or any sort of “operating system” such as symbian or java..for more info about the phone you can also check the website and you can also ask help from there.
hey guys =) i have been wanting to have a dual sim phone and i am obsessing with my phone – either qt23 or qtv22 – for me the features are just fine. i was just strolling at sm manila this afternoon and saw their stand and inquired about the units and am still planning to buy one next week, until i saw this unit today (dq500) and i loved it – the color – blue, the features, yep it looks like a nokia e71 (which i also wanted but cant stretch my budget nor my credit card anymore). so i searched the net for the specs and comments of this phone and i think it’s ok, still reading for the feedbacks and comments and i hope that the “panget features” posted in this blog in 2009 are already better. so for now, it’s more or less torque… i hope i will make the right decision =) more feedbacks please =)
hey guys =) went to the mall last weekend to buy the torque dq500, unlucky me because the last piece was defective. so the store clerk directed me to the torque kiosk just outside their store. they dont have the dq500 but instead they offered me the dq700 tv and to make the story short, i was the second lucky guy to buy the new model (the clerk told me that it was only out in the market last friday and they only delivered 3 units). so far the unit is nice, it’s looks like a blackberry phone, one of my friends even asked me if i just bought a new blackberry phone and all i could give him is a grin =) im still trying to familiarize myself with the features, and oh, i got 12 local channels =) anyways, hope to update you guys more with this unit =) ciao for now… oooops! pahabol lang, the unit is affordable – only P4,999.00
i was planning to buy this phone yesterday but was not able to. i am dying to buy this phone..ehehehehe.. guys, any new inputs about this phone? i think i will buy this phone on my next payday..hehe
