Do you ask your self what’s the difference between a mobile phone with VGA camera than that with QVGA or QCIF camera? Bet not. But let me tell you the difference:
- Sub-Quarter Common Intermediate Format (Sub-QCIF) – images are 128 pixels wide and 96 pixels tall (128 x 96)
- Quarter Common Intermediate Format (QCIF) – images are 176 pixels wide and 144 pixels tall (176 x 144).
- Quarter-VGA (QVGA)- resolution (size) of 320 x 240 pixels
- Common Intermediate Format (QCIF) – images are 352 pixels wide and 288 pixels tall (352 x 288)
- Video Graphics Array (VGA) – size is 640 pixels wide by 480 pixels tall (or vice-versa in portrait orientation).
