CignalTV launches in Mindanao
Cignal TV has just formally been launched in Mindanao.
Cignal TV is a product and service that provides direct-to-home (DTH) satellite TV. But the difference with ordinary DTH products is that cignal TV gives the viewers crystal clear, 100% Digital viewing experience.
Not only that, with Cignal TV, subscribers will also be able to listen to FM radio stations.
Cignal TV subscribers will have crystal-clear digital access to ABS-CBN 2, TV5, NBN 4, GMA, CS9, QTV, IBC 13, Studio 23, 2nd Avenue, ETC, and NET 25, and high-rating premium channels HBO, Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, CNN, PBO, Viva Cinema, AXN, BIO, and RHTV (dzRH Television).
Plus, subscribers will also have the opportunity to view 8 channels in full High definition format (In full HD are HBO HD, Star Sports, National Geographic and History HD. The offer also comprises four channels digitally enhanced to 1080i: ESPN, Star Sports, Playhouse Disney and Sony Entertainment).
What I’m really interested about this high definition viewing is that the “near real” viewing experience that Cignal TV is promising. Plus, when you take a picture or video behind a TV that is broadcasting HD digital TV, you won’t see horizontal lines on teh background.
Cignal TV is the only nationwide provider of high definition TV viewing. It is a product of MediaScape, the company that also provided the myTV service – TV via mobile phone - and they again tied up with Smart Communications to provide over-the-air loading of Cignal TV prepaid subscription easier.

I enjoyed watching cignal digital tv but there are lapses implemented by the company.
When HD was introduce to the market the MSF is only P450.00 with their corresponding contract (one year) signed by the subscribers.
Late November, all subscribers of HD450 was blocked for reasons that there’s an increased of MSF. What I don’t understand is there was no communication between the company and and local dealers that there are are changes on MSF.
My concern is that If I signed the contract for one year my monthly subscription should not be changed until such time that the contract period ends then that would be the time that we, subscribers has the options to continue their services or not.
Granting that the reason of the company that there is an additional HD channels, the MSF is too much, paying
P1390.00 a month with only 4 HD channels? They said 8 HD channels but sad to say the four channels is only 1080i resolutions.
No dicovery channels, no animal planet….i hope the company will take this as contructive comment.
