I first bought the Nokia 1208 because of its small size, lightweight, it has a flash light, the colored display, one of the cheapest Nokia Phones, and its loooooong battery life… 15 days standby.
Then I found out about the Torque E100. A much smaller mobile phone with colored display, and other features – see my blog post about it here.
So now that I have both, here’s my comparison of these two nice mobile phone that I’m sure you’ll also love.
As you can see from the comparison, The E100 has a slightly smaller screen than the 1208. Actually you won’t see the difference. But with 128 pixels, the display of the E100 is much better than the 1208.
The E100 also has a radio, A nice addition for its price. However, the E100 doesn’t have an organizer, unlike the 1208 which is an essential thing for me.
Both mobile phones have hands free or speakerphone functionality. But the 1208 wins in this category for the speaker of the E100 is located at the back of the phone covered by the battery cover.
The SMS and Call blocker is a big plus for the Nokia 1208. Its actually one of the few Nokia phones with this feature.
With regards to the size, we can all see who wins in this category…
And of course, being able to go on stand by for a long period – without needing to charge the phone – is another area where the Nokia 1208 wins. Though per actual test, its less than 15 days. However, though the E100 specs says its only up to 3 days on standby, i tested it and gone up to 4 days without charging.
So, which one do I like most? Well, its the Nokia 1208. But I’m currently using teh E100 and placed the 1208 on my bag.. Its now my backup phone.
For the cheap price of P1,199 of the Torque E100, there are those who would actually get that unit and can do without the other cool features of the Nokia 1208 such as vibrator, themes, call blocker, and long battery life. But again, there are those who will get the Nokia 1208 because of this features plus can shell out the additional/difference of P400.00 in the price.
So, which one would you buy?

Battery life and vibrate mode matters to me and so does the organizer. I’m O.C. that way so I lean more towards the Nokia 1208 even as a back-up phone. Call blocker is also an excellent plus.
It’s a shame as the Torque looks so much prettier with a cheaper price tag too.
Porcelain ninja.
Torque would have been great if it had those features right?
