My take on the mobile world…

Home » Mobile Brands » Nokia » Eseries » Evolution of mobile device uses and battery life

I was recently invited to join a webminar conducted by Nokia. The topic was about battery life. And I want to share with you some of what I have learned there.

First is the evolution of mobile devices based on their use.

As you can see from the illustration, the use of mobile phones have gone from just normal voice calls and sending to text messages to mobile TV, accessing and managing social media, and other internet related functions and mobile features.

What Nokia is saying is that the battery life  of current mobile phones is not able to provide the long life needed to support these services. That’s why heavy users of fully featured mobile phones needs to have their chargers with them if they plan to go out of their homes for a day or more.

And this is true for all mobile phones and mobile gadgets out in the market today. They have tons of features. But the battery life can’t provide enough power for us to continuously use the device for a longer period of time. That’s why I like low end phones. Longer battery life for basic uses! Like the Nokia 1208 and Nokia 1280.

Nokia, and I’m sure other mobile phone makers as well, are spending so much on research to provide a solution to this dilemma. I just hope they can come up with it soon!
