90 lashes for a girl who used mobile phone in school

January 24th, 2010 | 3 Comments | Posted in Issues, Tech News

The Daily Mail reports that a 13 year old girl from the Kingdom of  Saudi Arabia was sentenced to receive 90 lashes and be imprisoned for 2 months after using her mobile phone in School – something which is banned and strictly implemented in the said country.

She had assaulted her headmistress after being caught with the gadget which is banned in girl schools, said Al-Watan, a Saudi newspaper. The kingdom’s use of such punishments has been widely condemned by human rights organisations.

OH MY… that’s insane… the girl is just 13 years old.  But hey, that’s their law.

I thought it was illegal to go on the lash in Saudi

Still, if she knew what the punishment would be, she’s not too bright, is she?

And they call us in the West barbarians! What possible reason could we have for allowing these people to become U.S. citizens?

Laws in some country are too harsh and irrationally insane. Are they even human?
No, I think this is a simple case of women discrimination.
