Our Company is planning to transfer carrier from Globe to Smart. Its not because of the performance but mainly because Smart was able to provide a fast and reliable internet connectivity that we have now.
So I took the liberty of analyzing the current plans being offered by Smart. We already have an internet connection so no need to think about added services and features such as mobile browsing or data charges. So I will just limit this to calls and texts.
Of course, the best option would be to go on Prepaid either Smart Buddy or talk n text as you pay for what you use. But for Companies, you should always have call and text load for problems and issues that may arise. So prepaid is now out of the picture.
For postpaid plans, you have the Regular and Consumable Postpaid or what they call Smart Gold.
However, telcos offer corporate or enterprise plans that are much better pricing and phone units.
Smart Corporate Pricing (as of June 2010)
You see, they even have a calling circle feature where if you call smart numbers enrolled in the “circle”, you would only pay P3.56 for every minute. A lot of Companies, have enrolled in this corporate plans.
But wait, Smart also has the Gold Lite Plan.
Its a stripped down version of the Corporate / Enterprise plan that smart is offering. Stripped down because one, unlike all postpaid and corporate plans, it doesn’t come with a cellphone – you’ll only get a SIM Card if you enroll in this plan. Then you don’t have the calling circle feature.
But the great thing about this plan is that you only pay P2.00 per minute for calls. Though nothing will beat an unlimited call – this is the cheapest for postpaid lines.

In my next post, i’ll compare in detail Smart Gold vs. Smart Gold Lite and why the latter is the best choice not only for companies (versus corporate/enterprise plans) but also for individuals who can afford and prefers postpaid plans.

Yow, getting Smart Gold Lite 300 or 500 plan is traumatic! Once you hit the 300 or 500 or whatever your plan amount mark your call will automatically get cut off. Mag prepaid ka na lang if it is that restricted. Getting a consumable or regular plan is better.
that’s if your credit limit is the same as your plan. Its just normal don’t you think?
