Bro, i installed skype on this phone, but it said “it is not compatible with this model, instal anyway?” So I installed it anyway. When I sign in to skype it will load then crash afterwards. I say skype does not work on this model. But it is a really nice phone for everyday use. Thanks for your time.

Well, for me I bought it because of the internet capability na pede ako makapag Skype, FB at etc. depende din kasi sa need yun kaya mo cya bibilhin. May demo unit naman na pede mong matest bago ka bibili.
about the speed… parang mas ok pa nga speed nya sa samsung galaxy y ko… i bought it kase for my sister, pero nung gnagamit ko na… parang galaxy y din gamit ko, mas malaki nga lang screen nito, mas mataas ang camera, front and back pa… ok din ang mga application na dinadownload, same lang sa galaxy y… sayang nga at nauna ko bilhin ung samsung… kung lumabas ito agad, i’ll go for it… sulit…

tinanong ko yung internal memory 180mb RAM daw.
yung battery 1000mah. dalawang beses ko tinanong kung 1000mah lang talaga OO daw sabi ni kuyang myphone.

parang masyado yata mababa ung 180mb at 1000mah for the batt (mag last kaya ng 1 day ang charge neto).. but for the price of 4k for the promo, parang good buy pa din.. halos pareho na sila ng specs ng lenovo a69 (@7k+) except for the batt (1,500mah) and ram (256mb).
I have just checked the a818, batt is 1,300mah. though, I don’t know how to check the RAM, at di rin alam nung rep sa dealer na pinuntahan ko.
may napuntahan akong store nakita ko yung battery is 1300mah. tapos sabi 64mb daw ang internal memory. ahahaha
ang gulo.
magulo nga.. sobrang baba nung 64mb, bka di na gumalaw ung a818.. sabi sa fb account ng myphone 180MB ung RAM. tingin ko best buy pa rin ung phone given the competitive specs, batt na 1300mah(katumbas lng ng samsung galaxy y duos)at a great price. although downside nya ung parang hindi solid build, para ksing cheap plastic (syempre, mura tlga e pero bket ung ibang models nila parang sturdy kahit mura din).
actually, ang choices ko before samsung y duo, lenovo a60, lg net optimus duo p698, at a818. pero ngaun parang 60:40 ako between LG at myphone, respectively. Php8,600 vs Php 4k.
alam nyo kung magagawa nyong iroot tong fon, perfect to.
pwede kang mag install ng link2sd at kya mong gawan ng partitioning. ok to cguro.

@migs, i beg to differ. as i replied to one of your comments, skype does no work at all because it crashes upon signing in. You could instal skype, but it will crash when you sign in. Yes. You just need to download the viber apk (viber android phone installer) then upload and install it on the unit.
Baka kasi hindi recognized ng google play store ang unit na ito (not sure).
As to video calls.. ok yan pag naka wifi. mabagal yan (or baka hindi gumana) kung GPRS connection.
Viber to Viber will work, but skype to skype won’t because skype will crash upon signing in. As for “Baka kasi hindi recognized ng google play store ang unit na ito” it doesn’t recognize the unit nga.

got the a818 phone last Thursday and enoying it. Love the live wallpaper and will download some apps thru android market. Connection to the internet is OK as long as you have wifi.
advantage:
1. very cheap for android dual sim, wifi phone .
2. dual camera (for skype using wifi)
3. great sound (music) using earphone
4. can install most of android games and apps free in android market
5. Pinoy apps
Disadvantage
1. no 3G/HSDPA connectivity
2. battery last for only 10 hrs (always need to bring ur charger)
3. small qwerty touch pad but tolerable.
4. poor picture quality
recomendation:
Good buy for low budget android and dual sim phone. user friendly. i have one and satisfied to have this phone.

in my humble opinion, i would choose the galaxy y or the LG e400 over the My|phone a818. the My|phone model does not stand a chance between these two. But if you would choose between the LG e400 or Samsung galaxy y, the Lg e400 is better in terms of internal memory and camera and GPU. Thank you. *your opinion still matters, not mine.

How about the message capacity? Does it compare to the message capacity of Nokia phones?
Here is what i can say about the phone:
-It is good for everyday use (call, text, surf the net and play games, but not all games work on this phone, it might be laggy or not compatible)
-The speed is fair, not very fast, but not very slow either
-It is a simple android phone, nothing really big or special, but it is very decent.
-For those who are asking if skype works, no, it does not work. You could instal it, but when you sign in it will crash or force close. “Di porket may front facing cam kaya na mag skype.” I do not think this phone could handle skype. as for yahoo messenger, sorry haven’t tried that yet.
-overall rating for this phone is a 6 out of 10 (6/10). simple and cheap (in terms of price) phone.
