What are the differences and simillarities between the four new Nokia Lumia phones? Let’s take a look…

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE

The Lumia 610 and 710 both have rounded edges and resembles that of a Nokia E series phone unlike the Lumia 800 and 900 which have squared edges.

The Lumia 800 and Lumia 900 have almost the same keys and key positions.

Among the four, only the Lumia 900 has a secondary microphone (for stereo recording) and a secondary camera.

The Lumia 710, 800, and 900 have dual antennas,  while the Lumia 610 has only one (see area highlighted in blue in the pic below). S0 AVOID  touching these parts when making or receiving calls.

DISPLAY

The Lumia 900 have a bigger 4.3 display. Nokia left the Lumia 610 without the Corning Gorilla Glass.

MEMORY

Lately, the 256 RAM of the Lumia 610 is giving Nokia a headache as some apps such as Angry Birds and Skype are not working “as expected” (errr…. not working.). Skype has already pulled out their app from the 610. Meanwhile, Rovio, makers of Angery Birds is said to be working on a “low end” version for the Lumia 610.

Meanwhile, Nokia bumped the internal memory of the Lumia 800 and 900 giving it 16GB compared to the 8GB of the Lumia 610 and 710. Users will also be given FREE Skydrive storage. Not sure how much storage  for each variant but Lumia 710 users will get a 25GB storage in the cloud.

CAMERA

Both the Lumia 610 and  710 have a 5 mega pixel camera while the Lumia 800 and 900 have an 8 megapixel camera. When taking videos, The Lumia 610 can record 640 x 480 pixels videos while the other three can record videos at 1280 x 720 pixels.

Data/Internet speeds

Only the Lumia 900 is an LTE ready device.

BATTERY

Due to the larger screen, faster CPU speed, LTE, and other reasons, the Lumia 900 has a bigger battery capacity than the rest, Followed by the Lumia 8o0. The Lumia 710 and 610 both have the same battery capacity

PRICE

Here are the prices of the Nokia Lumia lines.

• Nokia Lumia 610 – Php 10,980
• Nokia lumia 710 – Php 12,500
• Nokia Lumia 800 – Php 21,500 to 23.500
• Nokia Lumia 900 – Php 27,990

From the looks of it, the Nokia Lumia 710 will let you experience and enjoy what the Nokia Lumia line can offer at the price of only Php 12,500.

It seems that the AMOLED display, added 8GB storage, 8 megapixel camera, and slightly upgraded battery is what  made the Lumia 800  more expensive by Php 9,000.
